The Fire and Security Association (FSA), the new specialist group for the fire and security industry, will be showcasing its activities at IFSEC, the world¡¯s largest annual security exhibition, which takes place from 21-24 May 2007 at the NEC, Birmingham. The FSA will be located on stand 9075.
The FSA will be using IFSEC to step up its activities to further represent the interests of contractors in the fire and security sectors of the wider electro technical industry.
The Association will focus on lobbying, guidance and training to develop and maintain standards, particularly in light of recent legislation and regulatory reform for both fire and security. It will benefit from the established Electrical Contractors¡¯ Association (ECA) platform, and will build on these existing foundations to become the voice of all those involved in the provision of electronic fire and security systems.
Work associated with fire and security systems continues to be a significant component of ECA members¡¯ activity, with in excess of £600 million of turnover currently in this sector, thus creating high demand for a representative body.
FSA Chairman Steve Kimber, comments, ¡°The FSA is looking forward to exhibiting at IFSEC to spread the word about what we do. These are very exciting times for the fire and security sector and getting everyone involved, from the professionals to those influencing government and other significant organizations is vital to us.¡±
IFSEC will be co-located with the complimentary events, Safety & Health Expo, The Facilities Show, Fire & Rescue and International Fire Expo, also at the NEC from 21/22-24 May 2007.
